About us
Broadacres is a successful, innovative, not for profit housing association based in Northallerton in North Yorkshire.
We are over 30 years old having been one of the original stock transfers. We currently own and manage over 6,800 homes, a significant and growing number of shared owners and a private sale arm (Mulberry Homes) and operate throughout North Yorkshire. The area we serve is one of high house prices and low wages making affordable homes a priority for ourselves and our stakeholders
We have two national parks, a long coastline and many market towns giving us a strong rural focus which makes us different to many housing associations. This rurality combined with high demand brings many interesting opportunities and challenges.
We have an active development programme to deliver 1,000 homes over five years as we seek to address the lack of affordable homes in North Yorkshire. At the same time, we have a sector leading energy efficiency and decarbonisation programme for our existing homes as we aim to truly make our homes affordable to live in and sustainable for the future.
Vision, Mission
and Values
Our Vision
‘To be the best rural housing association in the country’.
Our Mission
“Great people, providing great homes and great customer experiences across our rural communities”
Our five-year Corporate Strategy is centered around the three key objectives:
Great Homes:
- Deliver significant investment in our existing homes focusing on improving their energy efficiency. We aim to achieve a minimum C rating for all our homes by 2028;
- Build 1,000 new homes with a focus on social/affordable rent and to SAP A standard wherever possible.
- Deliver our Decent Homes Plus
Great Customer Experiences:
- Be a ’listening and learning’ organisation so changes to services are informed by customers;
- Deliver services that are personalised to our customers;
- Deliver services that mean customers can have ‘pride in their home’.
Great Places to Live:
- Be the go-to Housing Association in North Yorkshire and the go-to rural housing association nationwide.
- Partner of choice in North Yorkshire for NYC, care providers and with strong relationships with the third sector.
- Deliver homes that are affordable to live
Four things will enable this:
- Great People;
- Great Digital Platform;
- Great Finances;
- Great Governance
