About us

Nottingham City Homes Registered Provider (NCH RP) is part of the Nottingham City Homes Group and a subsidiary of Nottingham City Homes Limited (NCH)

a group of local authority owned companies established to manage and support housing services in Nottingham. Today, NCH RP plays a vital role in supporting some of the city’s most vulnerable residents through the provision of affordable general needs homes and commissioned, supported temporary accommodation for families in crisis.

Our mission is simple but critical: to provide safe, secure, and supported housing for people who need it most. Working in partnership with Nottingham City Council, we help deliver the city’s statutory homelessness responsibilities and play a key role in addressing housing need across Nottingham.

Where We Are Now

Following the transfer of housing management services back to the Council in 2023, the NCH Group is now focused on a carefully managed and controlled transition. Over the next three-to-four-year period (2025–2028/9), NCH RP will need to appraise options for future operation whilst its parent, NCH Limited, delivers a Business Plan that outlines a strategic exit from the Nottingham housing market. This will need to be achieved without impacting the availability and quality of temporary and affordable housing.

During this period, NCH RP will:

  • Continue to deliver around 400 units of temporary accommodation through external partnerships.
  • Maintain and manage a small number of owned social homes.
  • Work with the Council to develop long-term solutions for temporary housing.

Transition

This is not a typical period of growth but is a time of immense importance. Our focus is on protecting vulnerable tenants and residents, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring that the legacy of NCH RP continues to benefit the people of Nottingham even beyond our transition.

Our Commitment

We are committed to delivering regulated, financially stable, and customer-focused housing services for as long as we operate. We are also committed to supporting our residents, teams, partners, and stakeholders through this time of change, ensuring a clear, transparent, and well-supported process every step of the way.

We provide safe, secure, and supported housing for people who need it most.

Vision, Aims and Objectives

Vision

NCH & NCHRP aims to provide good quality, affordable rented housing in Nottingham and support Nottingham City Council to deliver its statutory homelessness duties through the provision of temporary accommodation for families.

Aims

The NCH Group aims to deliver a managed and controlled exit from the Nottingham housing market in the next 3-year period in partnership with Nottingham City Council and to ensure, to the greatest possible extent, that the closure of the NCH Group by year 4 does not impact negatively on the supply of social rented and affordable housing or temporary accommodation supply in the Nottingham by taking steps to protect the supply.

The NCH RP and NCH Group Business Plans aim to articulate the Road Map for the NCH Group for the next three to four-year period. NCH RP will work to ensure the best outcomes for the future delivery of its current aims and objectives.

Objectives for 2025-2028 (2029)

In partnership with NCC and NCH, NCHRP is focussed on delivering excellent homes and services, minimising any impact on the provision of temporary accommodation and the supply of affordable housing in Nottingham while retaining liquidity to ensure continued trading of NCH RP for the next 3 years at least.

The key objectives for NCHRP are to:

  • Provide good quality affordable rented housing for local people to help reduce homelessness and meet specialist housing needs in Nottingham
  • Deliver to the commitments under the Tenants Charter and meet the RoSH Consumer Standards.
  • To be a well governed and financially stable organisation.
  • Deliver the Temporary Accommodation Services Contract and provide 400 homes for homeless families for the next 3 years.
  • Provide excellent management and maintenance services to NCH RP’s affordable and social homes and temporary accommodation
  • Work in partnership with NCC to ensure excellent services are delivered through the NCC Service Contract

The draft Business Plan will be presented to the Board for approval on 10th July 2025. Once finalised, it will be made available for viewing.
